As the world gathers and awaits in anticipation for arguably the biggest tournament on Earth, I am reminded of the Soccer World Cup held in South Africa four years ago. The tournament, which was won by Spain probably the best team of the last 6-8 years ,was a huge success getting praise from all over the world on organization and the beautiful stadiums.
Will Brazil be as successful as South Africa? Only time will tell. There have been a few issues with Stadiums and other infrastructure but I think Brazil can pull it off.
Now let’s get to predictions on whose going to take it. On paper it looks like Spain will retain the title with a great blend of experience and youth and arguably the best coach in the world Vincente Del Bosque, but games are not played on paper. Against teams like Germany, Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, dark horses Belgium and many more talented teams Spain will face a tough battle to retain the title.
Personally I am backing Belgium with Belgian legend Marc Wilmots at the helm and with their young and talented squad, I think they can pull off a few surprises.
