Franky’s Diner Review

Franky’s Diner Review

Have you heard ? Franky’s Diner is now open 24 hours…

I have been wanting to go to Franky’s diner for a long time I mean have you seen the place, who wouldn’t want to go. Parking has always been the issue for us on the spur of the moment we decided to attempt to look for parking in the busy Regent Road Sea Point at 10pm on a Wednesday night and lucky us we found one right in front of Frankys.

Venue

They are Situated below Hotel 303 in Regent Road Sea Point .Franky’s is everything it promises to be.The whole diner is red and white and the walls have pictures or Elvis and Marilyn Monroe and even has a working juke box playing some awesome tunes (Brilliant touch I think) keeping to its 50’s theme. It’s bright, it’s light and just walking in you cant help but smile. I for one love the seating comfortable booths with soft couches. Truly has the perfect feel for just hanging out and the best news is they are also child friendly with a sweet little indoor kids play area.

Food and drink

The words WOW comes to mind when I think back to their food. I stepped way out of my comfort zone and ordered their Wicked Waffle and boy was I glad I did.A Perfectly made waffle drenched in maple syrup and served with crispy bacon. David had a foot long and the name says it all .It is served with your choice or fries or curly fries. He opted for Curly Fries and they were oh so pretty and tasted amazing. What I loved about their menu is although they don’t have a wide variety of dishes on the menu its good food made beautifully. They have a wide range of speciality shakes and also Naughty shakes which has alcohol in. The is one thing I am dying to try out on their menu and that is their banana split so we definitely need to go back soon.

Overall Experience

Service is a big thing for me and most times I have the worst luck when it comes to waiters but we had an amazing waiter called Rodney he interacted with our crazy table (4 people but we weird lol) He knew the menu well and was giving suggestions and recommendations which for me is always a plus. They were working on the kids play area when we were there which made a bit of noise but we didn’t mind because at least someone apologised for the inconvenience even though there wasn’t any because the music from the Juke box made us not even notice it. All tables are layed with straws , salt, pepper , sugar and serviettes so you don’t need to ask for those things when you need them.We were really impressed by our overall experience, we really loved the food as well as the atmosphere and will definitely be back again.
