Barclays English Premiership

With the premiership entering the final games on Sunday 11th May, and Manchester United relinquishing the title with an extremely disappointing season under the now fired David Moyes, there are two teams that can take the title. It will be either Manchester United’s noisy neighbours, Manchester City or Liverpool.

City are definitely in the pound seats with a 2 point advantage and a superior goal difference, they only require a draw against West Ham on Sunday. While Liverpool will require West Ham to beat City at the Etihad Stadium and beat Newcastle United to win. While I back Liverpool to beat Newcastle, I don’t see Manchester City losing to West Ham at home. City are definitely on course for their 2nd title in 3 seasons.

With champions league spots confirmed, Man City, Liverpool ,Chelsea and Arsenal qualifying, there is still a bit to play for for the last Europa League Spot. With Manchester United out of Europeans elite for the first time since the 1995/1996 season, their only hope of any sort of European football next season, is to beat Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium and hope Aston Villa pull off an upset at White Hart Lane to secure the final Europa League spot.

With the relegation battle almost complete, Fulham and Cardiff City already confirmed to be going down to the Championship, Norwich city face an uphill battle to stay up, 3 points behind West Brom and with very inferior goal difference, I do however see them joining Fulham and Cardiff.

I personally can’t wait for the premiership season to be over as I am an avid Man Utd supporter and it has been the worst season in a very long time.
